I loved help<\/span>ing<\/span> my parents look after, raise, change <\/span>diapers and<\/span> play with both of my younger brothers and<\/span> my<\/span> sister. I dreamed <\/span>about <\/span>how I will have my own kids at the age of 30. <\/span>Fast forward to 35<\/span>. Took two suitcases of kids\u2019 toys to the larges<\/span>t<\/span> Brazilian orphanage in Rio de Janeiro<\/span> and<\/span> in between tried establishing an agency to help with international adoption, raised money for the building of a primary school in Nepal (which we are opening in April next year), and now the decision has fallen that I become a <\/span>nanny<\/span>. To an English-speaking family from Mauritius, which owns a fast-food restaurant where I could help waitress. Yes, I have <\/span>until <\/span>now broken the vow that I will never waitress again in my life<\/span> twice<\/span>. And to make things more interesting, I\u2019m moving to the West of Australia. On an eight-hour journey. With a pla<\/span>n<\/span>e. <\/span>This would have already taken me <\/span>out of Europe back home.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Moving for a job is, among other things, due to lack of money. Not <\/span>so much <\/span>a <\/span>lack<\/span> of<\/span>, as <\/span>the fact that it <\/span>won\u2019t <\/span>be found<\/span> anywhere. Working in a caf\u00e9 and <\/span>a <\/span>restaurant doesn\u2019t bring in a guaranteed income. <\/span>Bad weather, few guests, less work, less hours, and I\u2019ve fallen from 45 hours in the first week, to 10 in the next. I simply can\u2019t afford that.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1534768281059{padding-top: 58px !important;}”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1534768398573{padding-right: 6px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”8421″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”]

\n\tThis is my fourth visit to the metropolis with a soul.<\/h2>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I arrived in Brisbane in the afternoon. This is my fourth <\/span>visit<\/span> to the metropolis with a soul. A soul that charmed me. A game of lights. Greenery. A river through the colorful city. Playful streets. Never too crowded. I\u2019m not a fan of cities. Especially not large cities. For me, even Ljubljana is too large. But <\/span>Brissy<\/span>. There\u2019s something about its playfulness. The life it gives. Colors that take you away. I have my favorite spot. Kangaroo Point. It sounds so clich\u00e9. \n\tA natural climbing cliff by the Brisbane River<\/h2>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A <\/span>cliff<\/span>. A <\/span>wall<\/span>-climb. A running track by the river. Cyclists. A picnic space. The river, and on it kayaks. On the other bank that which is a part of any city. Skyscrapers. Hotels. Concrete. Far away. And behind it, the sun. Even cold <\/span>wall<\/span>s become warm from this point. Nice. The best <\/span>pat<\/span> of the day. Sunset.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1534765729380{padding-top: 38px !important;padding-bottom: 36px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

I watch them. How happy they are.<\/span><\/p>\n

In love<\/span>. <\/span>Relaxed. Enjoying themselves.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I sat at a table and wrote postcards. I bought them on my first <\/span>visit<\/span> to Brisbane. About a month ago. Took them with me to Cairns. And brought them back empty. I would have written different words then. With a different energy. Today, I wrote thanks to my experiences, which <\/span>helped<\/span> me becoming a <\/span>nanny<\/span>. To move in with an unknown family, to which I will probably quickly get attached. That\u2019s who I am. First, I drank coffee. Then something a bit more refreshing. Then another coffee. And something refreshing again. <\/span>Ap<\/span>proach me. She doesn\u2019t have money for food, but she\u2019s drinking a lot. I\u2019m enjoying myself. I\u2019m living my life. And, as <\/span>some of my friends would say, <\/span>taking<\/span> life with a big spoon. To the left of me, a nice couple sits down. I watch them. How happy they are. <\/span>In love<\/span>. Relaxed. Enjoying themselves. <\/span>Taking<\/span> life with a big spoon. Like me. That\u2019s <\/span>wh<\/span>en they speak to me.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”9px”][vc_column_text]\u201cMay we ask where you\u2019re from?\u201d \u201cFrom Slovenia.\u201d \u201cWe saw you writing postcards like we used to <\/span>do when we started traveling together.\u201d Each<\/span> one of the guests<\/span> watches the sunset behind their own table. That glowing orb, quickly hiding behind high business skyscrapers and luxury hotels. We\u2019re talking about careers. Traveling. Work. Study. <\/span>People r<\/span>elationships. Experiences that brought us to the same point. Instead of watching<\/span> over<\/span> the three kids of the family from Mauritius, picking them up from school, playing with them, cooking for them, getting them ready for <\/span>the night<\/span>, and escorting them to bed. How I would rather do things and further develop my mind.
